Matt Parry
Patrols - National Manager

​Matt commenced his security career in 1996 and has a wealth of operational and managerial experience in the security industry.

Matt is responsible for our mobile patrol operations across New Zealand and works closely with our Branch and Operations Managers to ensure the best results for our customers.





 
 
 
Alex Park
Chief Executive Officer - New Zealand

​Alex, a senior executive leader with experience in maritime, oil and gas upstream and service industries focusing on workforce leadership. Alex has held senior leadership positions with both ASX and NZX listed top 100 companies and has been responsible for business operations with a global footprint covering different nationalities, cultures, and values.  


During this time Alex has built his corporate experience in startups, mergers, takeovers and various business transformation projects.


Recently joining FIRST Security Alex is focused upon leading people safely across all functions of business activity, delivering a valuable service to our customers and focusing on a robust social license to provide returns to all stakeholders in the security industry. 


Alex holds strong values and passion for ensuring every employee gets home safe and well, employee career development and how technology can be integrated into our workplace to provide a culture of operational excellence.



 
 
Mike Rutherford
Non-Executive Director

Mike is a highly revered executive with over 40 years' experience in the security industry. He has worked for both large corporate and small owner-operator businesses, and brings a wealth of experience to First Security and to our clients.

Mike has led First Security for the past 10 years. Under his guidance the business has experienced significant growth and is now firmly cemented as New Zealand's leading security provider.

​In 2014 Mike was elected a Life Member of the New Zealand Security Association; a prestigious honour which reinforces his standing as one of the most highly respected managers in the industry.

 
 
Bryce Tietjens
Central Regional Manager

​Bryce is a highly experienced, strategically focused and commercially astute Executive. With an extensive background in facilities services with experience in building profitable business divisions and a proven track record of achieving results.  Bryce has a reputation for integrity, clear strategic vision and with positive business and client outcomes. Bryce is renowned in the industry for successful initiatives, to improve operations, implement positive changes and drive outstanding results. Bryce has lived and worked in Europe working for the world’s largest family owned Facilities Management Company.

​A proven leader, Bryce empowers, mentors and develops the performance and capability of the people in the business including sales teams, finance and operations.  Utilising his expertise in business analysis, review corporate processes, procedures and operations.  Bryce possess well-developed communication methods which contribute to forming long-lasting business relationships and create new partnerships with ease

 
 
Brian Switalla
General Manager, Strategic Accounts
Brian is an experienced security professional who has worked throughout  New Zealand within the security industry since 1982.

Having extensive operational and managerial experience Brian is ideally suited for his role.
 
Ensuring the delivery of exceptional  levels of customer service whilst providing innovative solutions are key deliverables for Brian.



Responsible for the retention and organic growth of our national strategic accounts Brian holds The Professional Security Officers Certificate of Competence issued by The New Zealand Security Association.



 
 
Steve Mitchell
National Operations & Compliance

Steve has comprehensive operational knowledge in the industry possessing over 38 years security experience.


Steve has progressed through the industry levels, having extensive hands-on experience in all areas of security operations and management, Steve is focused on ensuring our operational delivery is of the highest standard throughout the country.


Steve has been employed by FIRST Security for the last 10 years, previously working with a major international security company for 28 years.


 
 
Hayden Rakich
Financial Controller, New Zealand

​Hayden joined FIRST Security in 2015, as Assistant FC and was quickly promoted to the role of Financial Controller.


Prior to joining FIRST Security, Hayden has held a number of significant and Senior Finance roles at various organisations in New Zealand, Australia and the UK Amazon.com, Beca and BSKYB.



Hayden’s goal is to review and streamline processes and to find efficiencies within our finance structure and to deliver a systematic solution to meet our clients invoicing and reporting needs.




 
 
Daniel Budd
General Manager Sales & Marketing

​Daniel brings a wealth of sales and business development experience to FIRST Security, having built and developed high performing sales teams across the UK, Singapore and NZ within the upstream oil and gas sector.


Matching service strengths with client’s requirements is Daniel’s passion and is what he will be aiming to do in his role at FIRST Security.



​Further focus will be to provide transparent pricing and cost analysis, reporting and continuous improvement to our clients.




 
 
Raymond Hall
National Manager - EMS

​Ray has been leadership roles within the service industry for more than 20 years.

Formerly as Head of Training for McDonalds NZ and Regional Operations Manager for Compass Group, Ray brings a wealth of experience in people and process management.

Commencing with FIRST Security in November 2016 Ray manages the national contract for Electronic Monitoring of offenders in the community. Ray is responsible for the direction and leadership of the company’s EMS Monitoring Centres and response service. 
Relationship management with FIRST Security’s primary client and the Department of Corrections is a core aspect of this role.

In 2017 Ray will finish an MBA through Massey University with a focus on Business Law and Corporate Governance.


 
 
Nathan Cray
Branch Manager, Auckland (Guards)

​Nathan joined FIRST Security in April 2007 and has been engaged by FIRST in various capacities over the past 10-years. 


Nathan has an extensive Operational & Account Management experience and is responsible for the overall growth of the Auckland Guard’s division. 



​Nathan enjoys developing high performing teams and improving both systems and processes, with his focus being to increase efficiency and maximize our service delivery potential.
