STRIVE Awards 2025: Celebrating FIRST Security’s Exceptional Employees

As Aotearoa’s leading provider of integrated security services, we know better than anyone, the value of having a strong team committed to putting whānau first. At FIRST Security, this philosophy guides not only the way we serve our customers, but also how we recognise, celebrate and support our people.

It is with immense pride that we celebrate the achievements and contributions of our team members recognised in the STRIVE Awards. We are excited to share the inspiring stories of our winners for 2025.

STRIVE 2025 Bravery Award Winners

Saimoni Kaukirewa and Sosaia Sina - Hamilton

Saimona and Sosaia are recognised for their swift and compassionate response when they spotted a teenage boy acting suspiciously at Chartwell Mall. The boy was threatening to jump from the third-story parking building, and through calm communication and quick thinking, the officers were able to safely talk him down and prevent a tragic outcome. They then passed him over to the police for further support. Their actions demonstrated incredible bravery, empathy, and professionalism in an extremely challenging moment.

Asalemo Polataivao - Wellington

Asalemo is recognised for his actions at Queensgate Shopping Centre, where he encountered a distressed young person sitting on the edge of a car park structure. Acting decisively, he used empathy and clear communication to de-escalate the situation and guide her to safety. Police arrived shortly after to take over care. His actions helped prevent a tragedy – highlighting the vital role our officers play in protecting not just property, but lives.

STRIVE 2025 Field Employee of the Year Winners

Talha Qureshi and Sadeque Syed - Auckland

Talha and Sadeque are recognised for going above and beyond while on patrol. They came across a man lying unresponsive in the middle of the road with a serious head injury. Acting immediately, they contacted emergency services and diverted traffic to prevent further harm. Their calm and decisive response ensured the individual received urgent medical care and was safely transported safely to hospital. By stopping, checking, and helping when it mattered most, the officers exhibited professionalism, courage, and care that may well have saved a life.

Cameron Harvey - Christchurch

Cameron is recognised for the compassion, integrity and courage he displayed when witnessing a car accident near the end of his shift. He immediately stopped to assist the individual who had been hit by the car, and ensured the driver remained at the scene when they initially wanted to leave. Cameron stayed to provide reassurance and support until emergency services arrived – demonstrating the values and professionalism we strive for at FIRST Security.
